I’m here to tell you that there’s hope, even if your back pain is excruciating.

At one time I could barely walk. That’s right, I could barely drag my body across my kitchen. Actually, I spent as little time as possible in this room. That’s because I couldn’t stand on my feet long enough to get a meal.

Nearly all of my waking hours were spent on my couch. Sometimes I’d sit. Other times I’d try to lie down. But I could never get comfortable.

The entire lower right side of my body seemed to be in a continual muscle spasm. The worst of the pain was centered in my lower back. It would get worse in cold weather. But I was pretty miserable when humidity hit too. Stress could set of a cycle of more pain. Walking any distance did the same.

However, I didn’t despair. That’s because I already knew a lot about natural medicine and natural healing. Even though I wasn’t putting this information into practice, I knew that various homeopathic and herbal remedies could potentially help me. I just had to find the right ones. Only rarely did I waver in this belief.

I decided to ignore any and all kinds of discouraging thoughts. I ignored the idea of my condition getting progressively worse. I ignored labels. Regardless of what I had, the path to healing would be the same, whether I suffered from fibromyalgia, sciatica, multiple sclerosis, arthritis, lupus or cancer. None of these labels mattered.

Guess what, though? It didn’t work for me. Nor does turmeric appear to work for others. What this told me is that I didn’t need to take it. Instead, something else would work. As it turns out, I do much better with other herbal remedies, such as tulsi. This is also known as holy basil. It’s been used in Indian Ayurvedic medicine for ages, and it’s amazing. At least it is for me.

It took me years to get better, to get to a point where I knew I could make it across the room without my back going into a spasm that prevented me from walking. There was a lot of trial and error. But I’m now living almost pain free, even though I still have an occasional bad day. But these are rare. I used herbs, homeopathy, essential oils and I gave up certain foods.
